The Centre for Social Enterprise Development – a connector and capacity builder which champions social enterprise to create stronger, more caring and more sustainable communities – is delighted to announce the appointment of the following people to its Board of Directors:
Justin Fortin has been a key contributor within the federal government’s Social Innovation and Community Development Directorate (in ESDC) for nearly a decade. His work has included policy development at the national and international levels, working across government to improve the policy landscape for social enterprises and nonprofits.
Susan Ingram brings over two decades of experience across the private and nonprofit sectors. As Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa, she leads a nationally recognized youth mentorship organization and has spent the past 10 years building and scaling its social enterprise, Thrive Select Thrift.
Jamie Kwong is a seasoned community leader with over a decade of experience in driving positive change and fostering growth. In her role as executive director of the Ottawa Safety Council, she helped transform the School Crossing Guard Program into a significant social enterprise, expanding its reach to Toronto and Brockville.
Alain Malette has over two decades of leadership experience in higher education and public policy. Currently the Senior Director of Career Development and Experiential Learning at the University of Ottawa, he is deeply committed to the synergies between community, postsecondary partners, and other stakeholders in advancing learning, innovation, and societal impact.
