Makatew Workshops

Marc Forgette, a French Algonquin member of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (formerly Wahgoshig First Nation) started Makatew Workshops with nothing but a hunger for purpose and a vision to reclaim his heritage. Today, he pours his heart and soul into sharing his culture through hands-on workshops and educational speaking engagements.

ur workshops are available in person (at your office or facility), virtually, or a combination of both. We can host groups ranging from 10 to 1,000 people depending on the workshop and location. We can also tailor our content to your unique audience or needs.

Each participant assembles a traditional Indigenous craft while learning about its history and significance. We also discuss topics like truth and reconciliation, providing an open environment to ask questions without judgment.
