When I was just a young one, my parents took my brother and I out on the Pow Wow trail where they’d sell their handmade goods and we’d all share in an experience like no other. Some of the best memories of my childhood were from these road trips, traveling from place to place across Canada and the United States. In 1994, my parents opened up their very own Native arts and crafts store in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – They named it Beaded Dreams. Over the years they’ve gained loyal customers while making new ones all the time, and in 2007, they passed Beaded Dreams down to me and I’ve been taking care of this baby ever since.

We sell a range of items including jewelry, moccasins and mitts, dreamcatchers, Native art, handmade candles and soaps, smudge medicines (ie. sage), books, stones and crystals, craft supplies and much more.

Kwe! We are a mother and daughter passionate about honouring our Mi’kmaq culture, creating beautiful things and making a difference in our community. As a social enterprise, 15% of monthly proceeds are donated to an Indigenous charity or organization. We are located in Ottawa, ON on unceded Algonquin territory, but our roots are in Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland), Mi’kma’ki territory. We look forward to sharing our passion for creativity and culture with you! Wela’lin.

Jewel’s aims to provide modestly priced, gently used clothing for the residents of Smiths Falls, Perth, and surrounding areas, with a broader focus on raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County for matching and programs for children and youth right in the county.

We have two locations: Perth and Smith’s Falls.

Empowering at-risk youth through the development of pre-employment skills and entrepreneurship by operating a business using recycled bike tires and tubes to create wearable jewelry. The youth learn customer service, sales and business acumen through the sales of the products at markets and events. Using this experience the youth develop the skills and confidence to apply for more long term jobs.
