Fluently bilingual in both official languages, Marie graduated Cum laude from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2010, following the completion of her undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Ottawa in 2007.
Since she established herself in Ottawa, Marie has become involved in a variety of volunteer and fundraising initiatives in the community, including the Terry Fox Run, the Relay for Life, and the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program. Marie also does her best to make time for the many athletic pursuits she enjoys, including basketball, volleyball and running.

Gabriela Godinez-Laverty is Co-founder and Director of Operations at Mexican Corn Products, Inc., makers of Los Cantores brand authentic tortilla chips. In this role, Gabriela manages product design and development, customer and supplier relations, distribution, and Human Resources.
Gabriela played a central role in the company’s original product rollout along with its later product expansion. In 2006, she spearheaded the introduction of its private label program, partnering with Farm Boy grocers where the product has remained a best seller since its launch. Gabriela has helped the company grow revenues consistently year-over-year, expanding distribution contracts with numerous independent grocers in and around Ontario and Quebec. In 2015, she further led the company’s expansion into the U.S.
